Season Review; Fire Season 1622 STThe Family Rawson head, Mannanan Rawson died at the start of Fire Season. After a Council of War had been called the heads of the Benvarkini and Scanthil families, the families at war with the Rawsons, were assassinated under mysterious circumstances. Their hearts were removed, and bodies mutilated. In retribution for this obvious aggressive and dishonourable move against the people of Lankst, Garundyer - Hero of the Seven Storms and most powerful HeroQuester in Ralios - appeared and struck Mannanan down in his own family chamber in one-on-one combat. Rather than mutilating the body of the Rawson family member he called upon a Sword of Humath to use his magics so that the body may never be ressurected. With the Rawson Family Council sundered until at least Sacred Time it seems that the prophecies of the failure of the Sacred Time Pilgrimage by Lugh Rawson et al have come to fruition. Liam Dac Mara has already purchased a lot of Manannan's land, and Tuatha Rawson has already set about trying to declare a new Family Head. Dark times indeed lie ahead for the family Rawson. Calantia Masonlord, Hero and builder of the Stormwalk Road and Tempest Halls, recently acquired a "heliofurnace" to power his new project in mid-Otkorion. He requested, and received, from Surantyr permission to cordon off an extra two key miles around his project, meaning that the exclusion zone is now nearly ten km! Crelatia, brother to General Stefan of Fiesive, and General of the city army of Valantia was said to be investigating into "dire troubles" contained within the Poldark. It is thought that some form of daemonic power is coming to life within the forest, controlled somehow by the trolls. Banami gorgosaur riders managed to penetrate as far as Linvale, nearby Valantia, before being repelled by Crelatia's forces. Apparently the disagreements between Crelatia and Sreng Kirwan, Death Sword of the Church Militant and Temporal Incarnation of St. Humakt, are growing in magnitude, leading to more and more of these raids as the general does not tell the Death Sword of his plans. General Stefan has gone as far as making a public appeal to his brother to work closer with Sreng, even though it is rumored that Stefan was responsible for sending Sreng on the near suicidal mission into Guhan seven years ago to rescue Bishop Corpry. Sir Harm of the proud lance, rune lord priest of the Warrior Caste has apparently departed with Minaryth Rawson on a search for Duan Feg - the magical sword of the Rawson family - and have headed north east towards Dorastor, Land of Doom. Sir Harm was said to be very proud to be working with a man such as Minaryth, and hopes that this may actually make his name popular outside of Valantia. And, indeed, it has. The Red Circle of Fiesive has made its third application in five years to take mandate over the sorcerors of Valantia, not just sorcerors within Fiesive. The application will be brought before King Remeual II of the Family Finshad, and if he passes it then it will be brought before the Iron Council of Valantia to be voted upon. As there are no opposing organisations of sorcerors within Valantia there is no one to fight for their "rights" so to speak, and it is thought that Surantyr will influence the Council into passing the decision. If this was so then the mandate will most likely pass quickly into being the entire Wizard Caste. The Red Circle are already said to be celebrating their victory. A small note on wars, two pitched battles broke out in mid eastern Otkorion during the mid season when Arkat Chaosbane worshippers clashed with Great Arkati from Valantia. A second battle occoured when Blackmorian Monks ambushed worshippers of Arkat the Destroyer travelling down the Stormwalk. Apparently they were said to be agents of a mysterious man named the "Barrowranger" - after an investigation the Inquisition ruled that the monks had not broken Otkorioni law. Also a street battle in Valantia between members of the Order of the Blade and members of the Ruam Clis, both Houses of St. Humakt, led to the death of Bishop Cardy's son (Bishop Cardy being the Bishop of Fiesive). Both Houses have sent formal apologies and reprimanded their members for such violent behavior against fellow brothers of St. Humakt. In less local news: Lightbringer worshippers from Naskorian have left their homes, fleeing from the darkness worshippers that populate and run their country. Many feel threatened by the trolls and darkness creatures that pass through that area. Most have now moved to Borin or south eastern Otkorion. The county of Daran has now made conditional defense alliances with Tiskos. Count Darmangon of Borin has shown a shift in allegiance. The self professed Boristi who engaged in many foolish military campaigns, one even with Otkorion, has no been proclaimed Henotheist Bishop of Borin by Surantyr. As the Henotheistic Church spreads its influence, it seems nothing will stop it evolving into an empire. Also the Henotheistic Archbishop has both refused scurrilous rumors about himself, and sent word that he will attend and represent his Church personally at the Seventh Ecclesiastical Council of Malkionism to be held in 1625 ST at Sog City. The occasion will mark a turn in the nature of Malkionism, as all the different sects gather in one place to discuss the future of Malkionism. Surely it will also mark the beginning of a new epoch in the history of the world. |
