Season Review; Dark Season 1622 STKabeelian the Stranger, friend and personal magi to the Queen, as well as a member of the Red Circle, has issued a prosperous divination for the future of the Queen's child. In honour of this, the first day of the New Year will be held in a mass celebration held by the King in Fiesive. The strange sorceror said "The sins of the father shall be the child's, as shall the virtues." As we all know, the King is a sinless man, and this is obviously a sign of a blessing from St. Orlanth. Another notable child has been born. The hermit Hero, Cei Staffsplitter, who recently married Mariel Brewers of the Family Rawson, have had their first child. Mysteriously, less than a year since they met. Odd portents are being told, and some speak of a chaotic birth, or the birth of Arkat. The Rawson Family have not yet made any comments on the premature delivery of a new Hero child. The Death Sword of the Church Militant was said to be "agitated" by the news that his House, the Ruam Clis, were said to have been involved in what can only be described as a pitched battle in the main grounds of the Deothaisel, the great temple to St. Humakt in Valantia. Apparently a foray broke out between Votaries and members of the Wapensal, and the Ruam Clis joined with the Votaries to beat the Wapensal House in combat. Also, the Dunfali are being blamed for various in-fighting within the Church Militant's forces between members of a different House. The issue is "under investigation". Minaryth Rawson and Sir Harm of the Proud Lance have returned from the lands of Dorastor, along with their Fighting Companions and one or two odd allies. Minaryth has recovered Duan Feg, the mysterious and powerful blade of the Rawson Family. It now resides in the Family estate. Minaryth has been knighted and both himself and Sir Harm have been awarded the Iron Raven. Liam Dac Mara, billed to become the new Family Head, was said to be overjoyed at it's recovery. The Red Circle suffered a blow this Season. Thieves stole a powerful magic item from them, and they have since withdrawn their support from the rituals in Sacred Time they enacted to protect against the trolls, for without the item success is not assured. The Church is appealing to all Heroes in the land to aid them in their plight. Seven men connected to the cult of Arkat the Destroyer were executed mid-Season for Heresy in the First, the crime of dealing with chaotic and sinful forces. An investigation of the Arkati cult is underway. Citizens of Otkorion are asked to be wary of all such Destroyer Arkati. The cult of Great Arkat has also pronounced that it will soon announce the vision of the heir to Ralios. This claim was promptly denounced by numerous Arkati cults, both inside Otkorion and outside, who claim that this vision is obviously false. The envoys from Galin have left Syrantyr the Non-heretic, apparently happy in the fact that Our Church does not currently conflict with the Aetheric Church of Galin. Galin, who venerate the god Ehilm as the Sun and son of the Creator, have shown interest in these times in the Orlanthi worship of Elmal as the Sun instead of Ehilm. Obviously, as Elmal is only worshipped by barbarians and not Henotheists like ourselves, the Galini were satisfied that our ways were not at all pagan or heretical. Beolorn of the Dunfal has died. This particular famed hero of Otkorion perished on a holy pilgrimage where he sought to fight honourably against a superior opponent on his own. The Dunfali House has offered no way to pay respects, but the Rawson Family, for whom Beolorn spent most of his time with, will be holding a ceremony soon. Whilst talking about the Rawson Family, the Demon that destroyed a town near Valantia was slain heroically by the Rawson Heroes led by Deola Rawson, a member of the Lord Caste. Trolls were said to have been behind the summoning of the demon which destroyed not only the town in Otkorion, but a border fort in Holut. In less local news: A dark troll named Kurzum Aragat has appeared recently to advise the Duke of Naskorion on religious matters. Hentheism is spreading nicely through Borin as it's Duke and Bishop spreads out creed. The Guild of Chaos Monks is said to be active again in Borin, and Uton. The fire worshipping primitives of Lalia, the Rafali tribe, are said to have suffered great and unprecedented losses against the trolls, losing ground for absolutely no reason. It is said that their powers have failed them. The Church worries that should the trolls take over the Firestorm Plains they will raise all of the demons imprisoned beneath it's surface. |
