Season Review; Fire Season 1623 STOne of the Humakti Houses has been officially disbanded! After numerous riots in Valantia between the Houses of St. Humakt, the Ruam Clis have been declared responsible for the troubles that have caused such great rifts in the cult of Death. The last straw was the death of the Head of the Cearnlinthor in a riot between the Ruam Clis, Cearnlinthor, Dunfali versus the Wapensal and Order of the Blade. Three consequent riots occurred shortly after, resulting in nearly twenty more dead Humakti. After a meeting between the Archbishop, the two City Generals, the Death Sword and five Humakti House Heads, it was decided that the Ruam Clis, that has remained in existence since before the Great Plague, should be officially disbanded. Membership is now illegal, and the lands owned by the Ruam Clis have been given to the other Humakti Houses. Noticeably, even those Houses who are against the Church in principle received their fair share. Numerous riots occurred as the House was disassembled and certain members were exiled. The Sreng Kirwan, member of the House, Death Sword of the Church Militant and Temporal Incarnation of Justice, has remained in power and revoked his membership in the House. Many of the exiles, and certain other Humakti, were seen riding east, towards Surkorion. This, however, has not been the end of the riots. There was a week of calm, but two more riots have occurred, both involving the Order of the Blade, and one involving the Votaries. The Duncolm, Temporal Incarnation of Death and Bishop of the Salantian Bishopric, has called for peace in this time of troubles. The Duncolm has been investigating the reports of vampires within the Salantia. He has prevented many small bands of Heroes from entering the Salantia to root them out and defeat them. The Archbishop has supported his decision. In other Humakti issues, Dann Halifar, Sword of St. Humakt, took the new position as head of the Cearnlinthor after proving his worth in single combat against one of the Lalian Batar. On a more impressive note, the Darkstorm trolls who have plagued the western borders of Otkorion, perhaps in preparation for a war, have been defeated. A lightning raid led by the Rawson Ring, led by Amorgen MacConmac, along with such noble members as the magus Lugh Rawson, the noted Deola Rawson, the lust object Fellidra Rawson and the valiant Mariel Staffsplitter, managed to destroy the bastion of power. The raids have since stopped. Orlaith Rawson, Brigit Rawson and Brangen (aide to the Queen of Fiesive) all received Iron Ravens for their part in the raid. The Archbishop has granted them many rights, titles and awards for their work to protect Otkorion. A new Ring has appeared, led by a Humakti called Leon Au Fragraa who recently left the Church Militant. In the last Season his men have led two successful raids on chaos nests and temples held by the vampires of the Salantian forest. In one mighty battle, witnessed by many in the small town of Gotten, a broo vampire three times as tall as man managed to slaughter nearly the whole Ring before Leon himself struck a mighty blow that saw the chaos beast off into the night. Leon is apparently working closely with the Inqusition and a hero called Iudan Finnshad. The powerful red gauntlet of the Red Circle has almost slipped of their wrist. Membership is dropping rapidly, and now the Court Wizard has been joined in his calls for the disbanding of the organisation and to give it's powerful magical Ring to the cult of St. Orlanth where, according to one associated Priest of St. Orlanth, "It properly belongs, especially after the hardships that freedom loving Orlanthi went through to get it." The Red Circle have not commented in any way. Notably, the King of Valantia has not wholly refused the idea that the Red Circle should have power over the southern city as well as the north, something considered strange considering their current political status. Most people consider the Queen to be the single person keeping the Circle in power. The Queen of Fiesive, having nearly completed her pregnancy, has been accused by the Great Arkat cult of trying to manipulate their affairs. Apparently she was attempting to blackmail or persuade them into giving their support to the Crown of Fiesive. She has been denounced as a servant of Gbaji. Those who have openly voiced their opinions have been detained, and accused of treason. A mysterious mage has been seen wandering southern Otkorion. All attempts to discern his nature have failed. Many talk of him being a portent of coming Doom for the land itself, but such rumours have been dismissed by the Church. Forces from Borin have been sent to Valantia. The newly converted country has allowed some of its military forces to leave the country as a sign of friendship to Otkorion and Valantia. The temple to St. Orlanth in Valantia has sent a powerful holy item called the Silver Sheath to Borin in return. The Lanciti Lalian tribe have stopped trade with the Families Rolymer, Rawson and Mac Erc, a terrible blow to trade relations for these three families who get a lot of revenue from mineral deposits the Lanciti control. Other Otkorioni have managed to determine that the Lanciti jointly hold these three families, historically allies in all things, responsible for the troubles of the Rafali people. The Rafali who are working alongside the trolls are said to be training in unit military tactics, an unusual turn of events considering the primitive nature of the Lalian people. In less local news: The people of Borin have slowly started to convert to the worship of Henotheism. Sir Harm of the Proud Lance, noted Hero of Otkorion, was seen in Galin fighting Tyramic chaos demons. He is said to be beginning a HeroQuest to the Castle Coast for spiritual knowledge and purity. Naskorion was ravaged by dragons again this year. Five Heroes, led George Allaraming Priest of Xentha and Subere, have begun investigating the situation. Guhan have been raiding Holut for some weeks now. Traders from Tinaros have set up a merchant market on the border of Otkorion and Tinaros. There were some military skirmishes, but the Inquisition held an investigation and, to the shock of everyone, have declared the merchants human and trustworthy. |
